John Levine
Director
John Levine, CPA, is one of Australia’s leading experts in financial management of education institutions and the intersection of finance operations with the academic enterprise. John actively engages with educational organisations to plan, execute and deliver financial sustainability and turnaround, drawing on deep experience in budgeting, planning and financial analysis in the education sector, both in Australia and overseas.
John works with clients at the cutting-edge of university finance, including integration with strategic planning, optimising resource allocation, financial benchmarking and activity based costing. He has worked on projects involving major change and innovative approaches to financial management.
John’s recent projects include:
- Financial turnaround strategy and implementation – a large dual sector Victorian university
- Scoping the feasibility of entry of a specialist overseas university to Australia – a NSW municipal council
Like other senior PKPA consultants, John has significant management experience in the sector to which he now provides strategic advice. John was Director of the Financial Management Resources Division at Monash University, and before that a senior financial analyst at Israel’s Council for Higher Education, the State accreditation and funding body for the higher education sector.
John has a Bachelor of Arts (Joint Honours) Economics and Accounting from the University of Wales and a Master of Business Administration from Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He is a Member of CPA Australia (CPA).
