Review of a science education program

CSIRO commissioned a review of one of its education program to inform future program design and activities. The program had among its aims the promotion of STEM, supporting teacher professional development in STEM and enthusing students about STEM.

The review addressed:

• the extent to which the program has contributed to the professional development of participants in STEM
• whether the program has contributed to the awareness of STEM among students at participating schools
• the level of awareness of the program
• the challenges for teachers and/or jurisdictions in participating in the program and how these might be overcome
• areas for improvement in program management.
