Widening participation by low socio-economic status, indigenous and students with a disability
A Go8 university
The project analysed and evaluated current activities and plans for widening participation of equity groups, and provided recommendations about future models for widening participation. The project:
- benchmarked the University’s priorities and models against other universities including domestic and international universities that demonstrate best practice in these areas
- assessed the opportunities for young people from a wide range of backgrounds and contexts to study at the University
- evaluated whether the University’s current activities and approaches are providing value for money
- provided advice on the aspirations the University might have, and options for the University for structures, funding and engagement models that reflect best practice across the sector in widening participation
- developed specific recommendations on how these arrangements might be implemented.
