Welcome to PhillipsKPA

PhillipsKPA specialises in the provision of expert services to the education and training industry and associated sectors.  Our expertise extends beyond education to other areas of public policy, government relations, research and development, and private sector management.

The company offers a distinctive, independent, in-depth understanding of management, policy and strategic issues across the schools, vocational education and training, adult and community education and higher education sectors.  Our knowledge base ranges from the workings of government at the highest levels to the operational management of educational institutions.  Our independent position, and the breadth of experience of our consultants and their status in their field, position the company ideally to work at the interfaces between education providers, business enterprises and government agencies.

We work principally, but not exclusively, with the key decision-makers in an organisation and offer a range of services to support institutional leaders and senior managers.

Unlike larger generic consulting firms, we understand the environments within which education institutions operate, and we have the expertise and low overheads necessary to complete complex management projects quickly and cost-effectively.

The PhillipsKPA principals are Deborah Lampard, Geoff Noblett, David Phillips and Peter Wade.

AppointmentsConor King joins PhillipsKPA

We are pleased to announce that Conor King will be joining PhillipsKPA as a Principal Consultant in February 2009. Conor is well known and respected across the tertiary education sector, both for his excellent work as Director, Policy and Analysis, with the Australian Vice-Chancellors’ Committee, and for his insightful contributions to tertiary education policy through his regular features in Campus Review.

Conor was a senior executive with the then Commonwealth Department of Human Services and Health before moving to the AVCC in 1998. He remained with the AVCC until 2006 when he took up a position as Institutional Strategist at Victoria University. He has a rare combination of senior level experience in government, great depth of knowledge of policy issues across both the higher education and vocational education and training sectors, and a detailed understanding of the institutional context and the strategic challenges and opportunities for tertiary education providers. This is an exceptionally valuable set of skills as we move into a potentially new policy and operating environment in 2009 and beyond.

Conor may be contacted via e-mail at info@phillipskpa.com.au
